The word crawl is used to indicate the slow pace with which the large group travels from bar to bar.
It is this slow pace that makes the Dishcrawl -- coming to downtown Delray Beach onTuesday, March 12. Although the event is sold out, we've got a pair to give away. Read on...
"Dishcrawl focuses on connecting food lovers with local restaurants one neighborhood at a time," says Dishcrawl coordinator Katie Myers. "We focus on specific neighborhoods in our community and 'crawl' to four handpicked restaurants, highlighting their specialties and introducing the chef or owner at each stop along the way. Dish crawls are very similar to pub crawls but much more delicious."
As opposed to other food events that allow guests to meander from venue to venue at their own leisure and discretion, a dish crawl is more structured and more intimate. Guests travel in a group from one restaurant to another. They sit down, meet the chef, and really get to know both their dinner companions and the restaurants.
Four restaurants in downtown Delray Beach -- with personal attention from the chef -- for $45 is pretty impressive. Explains why the event is sold out.
Since there are only a few select dining establishments chosen, participating restaurants are kept secret until two days before the event, at which time the first location is revealed to ticket holders.

"For our Atlantic Avenue Crawl, we are featuring four of Delray's finest eateries. The first restaurant we are choosing to leak is __________. We like to think of Dishcrawl as a backstage pass to each restaurant and a mini-tour of the neighborhood we choose for each crawl. That's why the chef comes out and talks about his or her specialties at each stop. Our Dishcrawlers feel more connected to the neighborhood and restaurants and always come back for more."
