We know that after a day commuting to the office or (gasp) driving around town for work, the last thing you want to do is hop in the car to party down in Miami. But, sometimes, there's an event so awesome, you just have to go. Like Miami Spice, the annual summer event that has dozens of Miami's best restaurants offering three-course dinners and lunches at unbelievable values. Or our sister publication, Miami New Times' annual Iron Fork chefs competition and ultimate food event. This year, Miami New Times and the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) have combined forces to bring you what's bound to be the summer's hottest ticket -- the Iron Fork/Miami Spice Kickoff event, presented by Miami Downtown Development Authority.

On Thursday, August 1, from 7-10 p.m., The Adrienne Arsht Center will welcome attendees, who will sample foods from Miami Spice participating restaurants and listen to great music.

In addition, VIP ticket holders will be able to indulge in fine Wines of Chile, enjoy Bacardi cocktails and drink Stella Artois. Plus, VIP'ers will be able to access the event at 6 p.m. for an extra hour of food and fun.

The event will feature nearly 50 of Miami's best restaurants and will give you the opportunity to preview many Miami Spice options -- so you can plan out your summer dining schedule.

Tickets don't go on sale until June 1 -- unless you have a MasterCard.
