If you haven't yet read the awesome New York Times no-star review of Guy Fieri's new Times Square restaurant, Guy's American Kitchen & Bar, you simply must.
Nothing short of pure genius, the review is just a series of over two dozen questions posed by Pete Wells to Guy Fieri like:
Hey, did you try that blue drink, the one that glows like nuclear waste? The watermelon margarita? Any idea why it tastes like some combination of radiator fluid and formaldehyde?
This past weekend, Bobby Moynihan reprised his Fieri to appear on Weekend Update. In the dress rehearsal (which got bumped by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie), Fieri reads the review for the first time. at first he's pretty upset, then he fights back. "Sure I didn't expect the New York Times to like my restaurant -- but did they expect to?"
Fieri also notes that he looks more like the sun in a school play than an actual chef and that he's not competing with Per Se -- he's competing with the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company for tourists who "just shopped at the M&M Store and are wearing a foam Statue of Liberty on their heads."
