Sirocco Mediterranean Restaurant & Lounge is celebrating its grand opening tomorrow, March 13, after a brief soft opening.
The restaurant, named after the wind that originates in the Sahara desert and travels across the Mediterranean to southern Europe, will feature contemporary takes on Mediterranean cuisine and -- because the restaurant is located at Seminole Paradise -- a host of colorful diversions like exotic belly dancers, cirque-style entertainers, hookahs, and live music.
Chef Federico Elkarout was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and spent time in
Rome before moving to the United States and the menu reflects his
travels.
Beef kibbeh ($8), hummus ($6), spinach pie ($6), and grilled calamari ($14) are all featured "mezze" selections.
Main
courses include chicken kabob, served with rice and garlic aioli ($20);
seafood risotto with saffron ($24); cavatelli mare monti with shrimp,
mushroom, and cheer tomatoes ($28); and grilled Australian lamb chops
($35).
In addition to food, Sirocco features a full bar with specialty cocktails and a wine list with bottles starting at $33.
High rollers who can't leave their casino winning streak
in time for an early dinner will be happy to hear that Sirocco is open
from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday - Saturday. The restaurant is open 11
a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday - Wednesday.
