Colleen Bokamper, wife of Miami Dolphins legend and restaurateur Kim Bokamper, died last Friday morning at her Plantation home. She was 57.
According to the Sun-Sentinel, Mrs. Bokamper was diagnosed with colon cancer several years back but kept her illness under wraps, asking her husband to respect her wishes and do the same.
Kim Bokamper said this of his wife:
"She was the kindest person I've ever met. She was all about her two daughters. That was her life," said the football great and owner of several Bokamper's Sports Bar and Grill restaurants. Their daughters are Courtney, 28, and Kimberly, 21.
Mrs. Bokamper passed away with family around her. "We got a lot of quality time in," said Kim Bokamper. "She never wanted to be a bother to anyone. That's just how she was."
Donations can be made in Colleen Bokamper's name to the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, P.O. Box 016960, Miami, FL 33101.
