The Off the Hookah family of restaurants has always stood out a little bit among their peers for being quick and agreeable when it comes to fundraising and partnering with locals for good causes. This week, the Clematis location will be celebrating its fourth year of operation as well as hosting a fundraiser for the Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society as an extension of their programmed Fourth of July celebration. Talk about multi-tasking.

"We are grateful to 'Off the Hookah' for presenting us with this fundraising opportunity. This particular restaurant chain is very motivated to support non-profits in their operating markets and we're proud to partner with them to showcase what we have to offer as a Zoo," remarked Ron Brooks, the zoo's Events Manager "and to help celebrate the restaurant's fourth anniversary" for emphasis on the symbiotic nature of this event.

With $20 tickets and all proceeds going to the zoo, this is a fun event the whole family can enjoy.

The fundraiser kicks off with a free street party from 6 to 7:30 pm that will feature informative zoo displays as well as a ZooCrew member for photo ops. From then on, attendees with tickets will enjoy live music, a BMX bicycle exhibition and an open bar courtesy of Tito's Homemade Vodka and hors d'oeuvres.

Tickets must be purchased by today from the zoo's website here and it is important to note that Off the Hookah is absorbing all costs for the party as they also undertake their fourth year anniversary for a loaded evening of action that will bleed into the 4th on Flagler roster of events for the weekend.

The party starts at 8 p.m. and will feature their belly dancers, bartender shows as well as Funkagenda and a performance by country shakers County Line Road. All in all a fun albeit disparate assembly of acts that have long been part of Off the Hookah's charm. Does this all sound like a little bit too much? Sure, it certainly is a lot to pack into a few hours and all for a good cause, but the restaurant wouldn't tackle it if they didn't feel like they could deliver the goods, right?

Maybe you won't want the kids to stick around after the fundraising time is over but this will be a good way to teach them some valuable lessons in community, preservation and conservation and how working together can yield great results.

Off The Hookah 4th Anniversary Street Party and Palm Beach Zoo Fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 3 at Off the Hookah, 314 Clematis St., West Palm Beach. Fundraiser tickets cost $20 and can be purchased here. For information call 561-837-8577 or visit www.offthehookah.com.
