From food under the sea, to food from on top of the sea, and even from the depths of hell, comes a food and beer dinner that will make you wish it weren't Wednesday.
Tonight, September 10th at the Rebel House in Boca Raton, those willing to put down the cash can indulge in a five course Duvel/Brewery Ommegang beer paired dinner at the downtown gastropub.
What's in store?

Steamed PEI mussels with a Witte-chevre broth, lemon confit, and roasted garlic chiabatta. Paired with the aforementioned Ommegang Witte.
Bacon and brie 'Beggars Purse', with stewed late season berries, a Duvel gastrique, and chives, paired with Duvel Single, a lighter and crisper draft-only version of Duvel.
Duck chorizo, with mango y blueberry pico, sprouted coriander, and duck chicharones paired with Brewery Ommegang's Belgian Independence Day IPA.
Fig braised lamb osso bucco... drool... with goat cheese grits, plum and ale demi glace, sweet potato greens, and paired with McChouffe, Brasserie d'Achouffe's Belgian dark strong ale.
Devil's food cake, with strawberry Bavarian cream, Coco Krispy brittle, spiced dulce de leche, and paired with the outstanding Flesmish brown ale, Liefman's Goudebrand.
Lots of good things, right?
The dinner is open to those who sign up, and begins promptly at 7 p.m. Tickets are being sold on Eventbrite for $63 a head, so it's a pretty luxurious night out in the middle of the week. Still, for Boca, it's a (relative) bargain.
Duvel Moortgart is a Belgian headquartered brewery that owns a few other European breweries as well as the American Brewery Ommegang and Boulevard Brewing Company. They most recently hosted a national pouring championship in Miami in which a local beer distributor rep won first place. Fun fact, I suppose.
