Great live music and a killer nightlife scene.

That's what motivates us working-class South Floridians to face the daily 9-to-5 grind. And while having to tolerate eight hours of nosy coworkers, cubicle dust, never-ending to-do lists, and brutally long meetings every single day isn't a simple task, it's what allows us music junkies to afford those front-row concert tickets.

So embrace those First World problems and check out the five best music events in SoFla this week.

Bob Dylan.
Rock those Ray-Ban Wayfarers (made a world-class fashion icon thanks to Bob Dylan himself) and see through the Shadows in the Night with one of the most influential songwriters of all time at the Broward Center. As a "pioneering rock 'n' roll" artist and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, Dylan will make you question everything about life's injustices, all the while looking cool as hell, of course.

Tuesday, April 21, 8 p.m. Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, 201 SW 5th Ave., Fort Lauderdale; 954-462-0222; browardcenter.org. Tickets cost $63.75 to $93.75 plus fees via ticketmaster.com.

Carlos Mencia.
Though the controversial Mencia now claims to be a new man, you can see for yourself this Sunday by entering the Mind of Mencia in West Palm Beach.

Thursday to Sunday, April 23 to 26. Palm Beach Improv, 550 S. Rosemary Ave., West Palm Beach; 561-833-1812; palmbeachimprov.com. Tickets cost $30 to $50 plus fees via palmbeachimprov.com. Ages 18 and up.

The Mowgli's.
We recently talked with Mowgli's guitarist Josh Hogan about the band's new album Kids in Love. Hogan and the rest of the Mowgli's are ready and eager to debut a new sound to all the fans at Culture Room.

With Night Riots and Hippo Campus. 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Culture Room, 3045 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale; 954-564-1074; cultureroom.net. Tickets cost $13 plus fees via ticketmaster.com

The Pine Hill Haints.
"Rattle Them Bones" to The Magik Sounds of the Pine Hill Haints as the "bluegrass/honky tonk/country" folks bring their "Alabama Ghost Music" to Fort Lauderdale's Kreepy Tiki Tattoos.

With Everymen and Que Lastima. Friday, April 24, 9 p.m. Kreepy Tiki Tattoos, 2606 S. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale; 305-803-9014; kreepytikitattoos.com. Admission costs $10.

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
Bruce Springsteen won't be bringing his "Hungry Heart" to South Florida anytime soon, but at least you can catch the next-best thing to seeing the Boss live — the "gritty soul- and R&B-infused grooves" of the Jersey Shore's Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.

Sunday, April 26, 8 p.m. Parker Playhouse, 707 NE Eighth St., Fort Lauderdale; 954-761-5374; parkerplayhouse.org. Tickets cost $39 to $69 plus fees via ticketmaster.com.
