Five Best Music Events in South Florida This Week

Great live music and a killer nightlife scene.

That's what motivates us working-class South Floridians to face the daily 9-to-5 grind. And while having to tolerate eight hours of nosy coworkers, cubicle dust, never-ending to-do lists, and brutally long meetings every single day isn't a simple task, it's what allows us music junkies to afford those front-row concert tickets.

So embrace those First World problems and check out the five best music events in SoFla this week.

Bob Dylan.
Rock those Ray-Ban Wayfarers (made a world-class fashion icon thanks to Bob Dylan himself) and see through the Shadows in the Night with one of the most influential songwriters of all time at the Broward Center. As a "pioneering rock 'n' roll" artist and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, Dylan will make you question everything about life's injustices, all the while looking cool as hell, of course.

Though the controversial Mencia now claims to be a new man, you can see for yourself this Sunday by entering the Mind of Mencia in West Palm Beach.

Bruce Springsteen won't be bringing his "Hungry Heart" to South Florida anytime soon, but at least you can catch the next-best thing to seeing the Boss live — the "gritty soul- and R&B-infused grooves" of the Jersey Shore's Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
