If you're looking for a job, Chipotle Mexican Grill is holding a major hiring event.

The fast-casual burrito company that's been breaking conventional chain-restaurant molds by offering food made from fresh, sustainably grown produce and responsibly raised proteins, is now making waves with a giant job fair.

On September 9, the restaurant chain will attempt to hire 4,000 new candidates at its inaugural National Career Day.

The event will be held in every U.S.-based Chipotle location, including all South Florida restaurants, with each restaurant conducting open interviews for up to 60 candidates between 8 and 11 a.m. on that day.

To guarantee a spot at your nearest location, applicants are encouraged to register for an interview at nationalcareerday.com.

Monty Moran, co-chief executive officer at Chipotle, says that as the company continues to grow, more good people are needed. "We are constantly looking for great people to join our team," he says. "Regardless of your background or experience, you can succeed at Chipotle if you have a passion for making the people around you better. Working here isn’t just a job but a career where employees learn how to make others better, run a successful business, master culinary skills, and, most importantly, lead teams of top performers. For people who embrace that culture, the opportunities are tremendous."

That means that even entry-level employees have an opportunity for advancement. More than 95 percent of managers are promoted from within the ranks of more than 60,000 employees. Managers can then go on to become restaurateurs, a job title that comes with a company car and a six-figure salary. Not bad for starting out by making burritos.

Every employee, by the way, receives paid sick leave and vacation, tuition reimbursement, and merit pay increases. Careers.chipotle.com has a complete list of benefits and perks for employees.

Although no previous experience is required to be hired at Chipotle, the company bases its hiring on finding candidates with 13 traits that basically everyone should possess. They include being conscientious, respectful, hospitable, high-energy, infectiously enthusiastic, happy, presentable, smart, polite, motivated, ambitious, curious, and honest. That means show up with a smile, leave the bad attitude at home, and don't start the interview with the old "Is that a burrito in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" joke.
