According to a report from the Hollywood Police Department, officers responded to a domestic incident at approximately 8:53 a.m. at a home located at 7181 Taft Street. Police made contact with the victim, who said she was being beaten by a man inside the house.
The victim, described as a white female in her early thirties, told police that she had been beaten by the suspect earlier in the morning, and that she was eventually able to leave the house with a child. But, she told police, another child was still left behind with the suspect.

But the man remained behind, barricading himself inside the home.
Thus began an hours-long standoff, where police tried to persuade the man to turn himself in. The Hollywood Police Department SWAT team was called in as officers tried to negotiate with the man.
Police said that the suspect had an apparent criminal history, and the SWAT team had been called in "as a precautionary measure due to the suspect's extensive arrest history," according to Hollywood PD spokesperson Meredith Elrich.
The identity of the suspect, described as a white male in his early 40s, was not immediately released by police Sunday, but a report from NBC Miami identified him as Damian Osorio, a man who had domestic violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, and assault charges to his name.
Following another hour or so, the SWAT team was called to make entry into the house, where they found the suspect dead.
"After numerous attempts were made to make contact with the suspect, the Hollywood Police Department SWAT team made entry and found the suspect to be deceased from a self- inflicted gunshot wound," Elrich said.
