Do you love music? Do you consider yourself "in-the-know" when it comes to the local scene, music history, your favorite genres, or what "the kids" are listening to these days?

Do you find you have a lot of great ideas but not as many places to put them? Like Facebook status updates are an okay platform for your gems of insight, but you're ready to flex your muscles a bit more and really show off your chops? Even better — do you already have some experience writing for a newspaper, magazine, or blog?

Are you generally witty and reliable, with a solid handle on the sort of stuff people want to read about — more specifically, what the people of South Florida want to read about?

New Times is looking for freelance writers to join our ranks and help us continue to churn out thorough, relevant, clever coverage of our local music and nightlife scenes. If this sounds like it could be you, fantastic! Please send an email introducing yourself with relevant writing samples, a resume, and pitches to [email protected].

And don't forget to spread the word to your music-savvy writer friends too. Happy pitching!
