South Florida's Eight Best Concerts This Week

International Noise Conference
If you head down to Miami only a few times out of the year, this week should definitely be one of those times. Brace yourself for 120 hours of utter madness as the creatives of South Florida gather at Churchill's Pub for the 14th-annual International Noise Conference. There will be music, there will be art, there will be blood (artificial, of course).

Trick Daddy
Trick Daddy may live in Miramar, but Trick has always been — and will always be — a real Miami guy. "I am Miami," Trick told our sister paper, the Miami New Times back in April. "You can’t just scream, 'Miami!' You have to live in Miami. You have to do things for Miami. You have to give to the community, the kids. I been through three Category 5 hurricanes, two major riots. If you did that, lemme hear that. I’m not impressed about your cars, your money, your jewelry; that don’t impress me. Show me that you love Miami instead of just saying it." Black Violin
Black Violin is on a mission to break all "Stereotypes." Composed of Kev Marcus on violin and Wil B on viola, the South Florida string duo, as pointed out by New Times, "do to hip-hop and classical music what Phil Jackson did to Shaq and Kobe — they make them work together." Check them out as they "crush people's impressions of what a violin could do... and also of what a black man is capable of" at Parker Playhouse.

The Long Run
The Eagles will never be the same without Glenn Frey. Watch America's number-one Eagles tribute band, the Long Run, as it pays tribute to not just one of the most successful bands in music history but to the legend who started it all.

Yonder Mountain String Band
Yonder Mountain String Band will be bringing some bluegrass to Fort Lawdy this week. "Though its genre isn't mainstream, YMSB" — as pointed out by New Times — "has fans from pretty much every walk of life." "Our fans are as voracious and musically diverse as our influences," singer Dave Johnston told NT last year. "I think that a lot of YMSB fans recognize themselves in how we do things and play. It's a wonderful feeling of community; it's a huge part of our success."

Having gone through nine lineup changes, Raggy Monster almost called it quits a year ago. But after finding the right guitarist and bassist, the West Palm Beach band was whole again.
