Tortuga 2016 is shaping up to be the most ambitious effort yet by organizers Huka Entertainment. While last year's two-day fest sold out with an attendance of more than 75,000 fans over the span of the country-fied, lite-beer-fueled musical weekend on Fort Lauderdale Beach, for its fourth-annual festival, Tortuga will feature three days jam-packed with some of country, folk, Americana, blues, and roots music's brightest stars and most exciting up-and-comers.
Now that we're a month out from Fort Lauderdale's favorite springtime music fest, this morning organizers have announced the daily artist lineup, in addition to a limited amount of single-day tickets, which go on sale today at 10 a.m. and start at $100.
Here's the day-by-day breakdown of Tortuga 2016 performers:
Day One, Friday, April 15th
Day Two, Saturday, April 16th
Bobby Bones and his comedy band the Raging Idiots
Old Southern Moonshine Revival
Day Three, Sunday, April 17th
JJ Grey & Mofro
Michael Franti & Spearhead
St. Paul & the Broken Bones
In an effort to continue evolving and keeping up with newer and bigger festival offerings around the state and country, the festival will also incorporate "more water and shade features into the event grounds" this year, as well as a pirate-ship art installation located in the general-admission area, where DJ Rock will be spinning all three days.
They're also offering expanded transportation options in 2016, with three Water Taxi routes available to attendees as well as the main shuttle route. Three-day transportation passes start at $45 in advance or $60 day of show. Single-day transportation passes are priced at $30 each day.
