Chef Josh Wahler and Andy Tsavos, both veterans of high-end Estiatorio Milos in Miami Beach, had a busy summer. In June they launched Born Foody, a meal delivery service geared toward parents looking for nutritious alternatives to store-bought kiddie food.

Their endeavor came to a halt this past weekend. Representatives for Wahler and Tsavos have announced the pair is currently relocating the commissary for Born Foody. A spokesman says the shutdown is temporary.

Although the delivery sector has been growing over the past few years, the Born Foody concept differed from its competitors in a few ways. It was the only Florida-based, chef-driven meal delivery concept geared toward children ages 1 to 12. There was no prep work required; the company offered fully cooked dishes available for nationwide shipment through bornfoody.com. And the entire meal-creation process was overseen by a registered dietitian who worked with Tsavos and Wahler to ensure dishes met dietary guidelines, checking everything from sodium levels to fat content. "It's easy to say it's nutritious, but we wanted to go the extra mile," Tsavos said. "We wanted total transparency."

The pair also opened Nisi (3330 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Fort Lauderdale; 954-200-6006; nisigroup.com). It remains open.

Currently, Wahler and Tsavos are trying to figure out their next steps.

Correction: An earlier version of this story said Wahler and Tsavos severed ties with Nisi and have shuttered Born Foody. Born Foody is currently not operating. Representatives had said Wahler and Tsavos were no longer running Nisi but have since claimed the pair is still involved in the concept.
