I get asked one question more than any other: Where should I eat right now?

With so many restaurants opening every month, it can be hard to keep track. But South Florida food lovers still need to know what's new, what's hot, and what's the best — all the way from West Palm Beach south to Hollywood.

So here you have it, a quick list to some of our favorite restaurant opening in Broward and Palm Beach over the past year.

7. Fast-Casual Poke (And Pokerritos) Debut in Broward At The Poke House
At Poke House, the setup is simple: everything — even grabbing a bottle of sake — is DIY. With more than 20 ingredients to choose from, it’s overwhelming for those new to poke, and those who aren’t new will question their existing knowledge of the dish. Options range from sesame seeds, cancha, and wasabi peas to avocado mousse cream sauce, lotus wontons, and macadamia nuts tossed in a spicy passionfruit marinade.

6. Miami's Pincho Factory Heads North To Broward County
When Nedal Ahmad was in elementary school, his English teacher told him he'd be flipping burgers one day. Funny thing is, the guy was actually right: As one of three partners alongside his brother Nazir and cousin Otto Othman, the burgers he's flipping are at Pincho Factory, the Miami-based burger and kebab restaurant that's grown from the original restaurant in western Miami-Dade County to a booming franchise business in just five years. The new restaurant in Pembroke Pines that opened earlier this year marks the chain's first Broward County location.

5. Margaritaville Debuts A New Concept With JWB Prime Steak and Seafood
It was a big deal when Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort opened last October. And it was an even bigger deal when the resort's newest restaurant concept, accessible to resort guests and locals alike, launched that December. Just one year old, JWB Prime Steak and Seafood offers a decidedly luxe dining experience backed by a contemporary menu of fresh seafood, raw bar items, and prime steaks paired with a world-class wines and signature, handcrafted cocktails.

4. Find Florida-Inspired Fare At The Regional Kitchen & Public House
On September 10, local celebrity chef Lindsay Autry and restaurateur Thierry Beaud (Pistache French Bistro, PB Catch) opened the doors to their long-awaited The Regional Kitchen & Public House in West Palm Beach's CityPlace.

3. Global Tapas Debuts With One Door East
At One Door East, beloved Broward County chef Giovanni Rocchio — also owner of Valentino's — aims to re-create the authentic Spanish tapas experience without the restrictions of sticking to one particular style of cuisine. It’s difficult to choose a favorite among the more than a half-dozen small plates offered, because nearly every one approaches perfection.

2. Clay Conley Does Italian For The First Time With Grato 
Famed Palm Beach County chef and restaurateur Clay Conley opened his third restaurant (and fourth concept) this year in West Palm Beach. “I’ve always cooked Italian food, so this restaurant felt like a natural progression for me as a chef,” says Conley, chef-owner at Grato. “But ask me if I ever thought I’d have three restaurants. I’d never even been in Palm Beach five years ago.” The Italian eatery at the corner of South Dixie Highway and Kanuga Drive attracts huge crowds and helped pave the way for other up-and-coming chefs to grow the city's new "restaurant row."

1. Florida-Born 4 Rivers Smokehouse Expands With Its First South Florida Location
It’s hard to believe the owner of 4 Rivers Smokehouse once cooked out of his garage for fellow churchgoers, relatives, and friends. The recipes — all his own — are developed from old-fashioned experimentation with rubs, wood chips, and temperature and whether to marinate or inject and how long to smoke. Today the restaurants sell as much as 12,000 pounds of brisket, pulled pork, and ribs each week.
