Big Al’s just got a little bigger with the debut of its third South Florida cheese steakery, this one in Boynton Beach.

The latest Big Al’s Steaks (1000 N. Congress Ave., 561-424-0089) is the largest of the trio (the other two are in Coconut Creek and Delray Beach), with indoor and outdoor seating and a wall-sized mural of proprietors “Big Al” and son Adam Costilo. (A second son, Brad, is also now part of the family business.)

The menu adds a handful of new items and some kids’ plates to the short roster of sandwiches and, of course, the signature Philadelphia cheese steak, thin-sliced rib eye piled on soft roll brought down from the City of Brotherly Love, “wit” or “witout” onions and a choice of American and Provolone cheeses or the neon glop known as Cheez Whiz.

Big Al intends to expand more than just waistlines, with a fourth cheese steakery planned to open in Palm Beach Gardens in January, followed by ten more Big Al’s all over the SoFla map.
