Restaurant bargain hunters usually have to settle for early-bird specials. Well, not this year. In honor of its 20th year in business, the Nicaraguan steak house Los Ranchos (2604 Sawgrass Mills Cir., Sunrise, 954-851-9665) is offering a different four-course meal every month for the rest of 2001. The cost? Just 20 bucks. That includes an appetizer, one of Los Ranchos’ signature steaks — the baby churrasco, perhaps — salad, and garlic bread. Best of all, a glass of wine or sangría, coffee, and a serving of the restaurant’s trademark tres leches are also presented during the meal. Take shameless advantage. It’s not often we can honor a restaurant for its commitment to the community — Los Ranchos runs six locations in South Florida and is responsible for introducing Nicaraguan cuisine to the area — and sate our appetites at the same time. And at a normal dinner hour, no less.
