Don’t let the name fool you. Flakowitz Bagel Shop (2410 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, 561-742-4144) isn’t just for breakfast anymore. A couple of months ago, the bakery and bagel shop expanded into a full-service restaurant. The proprietors say their new nightly dinners are great, so c’mon by. But I give you one warning: If you’re not a brisket fan, say bye-bye. Same goes for the rest of the Eastern European, Jewish delicatessen food: braised lamb shanks, stewed cabbage, stuffed peppers. Not that you have to have the heritage to enjoy such fare. But you do, given the portion sizes, have to have the appetite, especially if you want a black-and-white cookie to finish off the meal as it should be finished, in full-blown Flakowitz bakery style.
