I bet Rocco’s Tacos owner Rocco Mangel was the kind of kid who sneaked down to the tree in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve to carefully peel back the wrapping on his presents and steal a peek.
His namesake restaurants will host a Half-Way to Cinco de Mayo celebration this Friday. It’s a little bit like Christmas in July, only slightly less shameful. Why? Because drunks have no shame, of course.
And drunk you should be, after daylong tequila specials and
dollar-off drinks from noon to 7 p.m. There will be random, free
tequila tastings of the 225 varieties the restaurant keeps on hand,
plus the ever-present DJ and mariachi band three-ring circus. Slip in
some prize giveaways and you’ve got presents, booze, and music: That
sounds like any good holiday to me.
