As much as we love taking in the flavors of the holidays, it’s a gluttonous time of year.

Between work events, family dinners, ugly sweater parties, and the usual debauchery, there’s a good chance you’re feeling like you’ve overdone it a bit.

That doesn’t mean you have to give up on the indulgence.

To help you get a taste of the holiday season in a healthier form, Elena Pezzo co-owner of Green Bar & Kitchen in Fort Lauderdale gave us a wholesome recipe for raw egg nog.

This healthy holiday recipe will serve four to five people.

Green Bar & Kitchen’s Raw Nog

One and half teaspoons cinnamon

Related

One teaspoon nutmeg

One tablespoon almond butter (optional)

One tablespoon coconut butter (optional)

One cup pitted dates

Related

3/4 cup pecans or half cup cashews

Two very ripe frozen bananas

Two cups almond milk or coconut milk

Half teaspoon vanilla powder or alcohol free vanilla

Two tablespoons of pumpkin puree (optional)

One can coconut milk

A pinch (only a pinch!) cloves

A pinch of ginger

Step One: Combine all of the above ingredients in a high-speed blender and mix. If it looks a bit too thick, add more almond or coconut milk until it’s smooth.

Step Two: Pour into glasses; garnish with cinnamon and sea salt.

Step Three: Enjoy!
