Springtime is festival time. Hell, any time of the year down here is festival time. And we’re glad to see another beer-oriented festival go down at Saltwater Brewery in Delray Beach on Saturday, April 25.
This is a new concept by the brewery, simply called Mass Confusion, where barrels and barrels of its Belgian tripel have been treated with different ingredients and techniques to create a broad spectrum of beer variations. Don’t get confused about this festival, though, as it’s pretty straightforward: With a $5 cover, attendees will be able access to the brewery grounds to listen to live music, buy some beer, and enjoy some food-truck action. In addition, that cover charge turns into a raffle ticket, which will determine who really is lucky that day.
The first 500 people will get a limited-edition Saltwater Brewery custom snifter glass that can be used throughout the day to drink. After that, you drink out of plebian plasticware.
We were treated to a small peek at an advanced tap list, so here is some of what to expect:

- Seagrape Wood “Don’t Get Confused”
- Rum Vanilla Oaked Strawberry “Don’t Get Confused”
As is usual with a festival of this magnitude, friends of the brewery will be stopping by and include some local Florida favorites:

- Concrete Beach Brewery
- Copperpoint Brewing Co.
- Due South Brewing Co.
- J Wakefield Brewing
- Wynwood Brewing Co.
Food trucks in attendance are slated to be It’s a Cubano B (gourmet Cuban-style cuisine), Tip-A-Roo (tri tip steak and chicken sandwiches), and Out of Many (Caribbean-style, jerk-style sandwiches and platters).
What would a festival be without live music? Early birds get a chance to hear T-Wave from noon to 3 p.m., Shorty the Giant from 4 to 7 p.m., and finally the ever-present the People Upstairs from 8 to 11 p.m.
