Nick’s Apizza, restaurateur Nick Laudano’s New Haven-style pizzeria, may

be gone from downtown Lake Worth but it hardly isn’t forgotten. In

fact, it’s about to be reborn in Boca Raton and, eventually, in three

other yet-to-be-determined SoFla locales.

Along with partner Anthony Giovanniello, Laudano is planning a May debut

of the Boca Nick’s in Glades Plaza, an open-air mini-mall near the

enormous Town Center complex. The same roster of crisp-crusted pizzas

will be offered–including the killer white clam pie, made with

fresh-shucked littleneck clams–along with Hummel hot dogs, Foxon Park

sodas and house-made desserts. 

At 4,600 square feet and seating for 150, the new Nick’s trumps the

space of the old Lake Worth location. Design is by Laudano and local

design star Karen Hanlon, who did Racks Downtown Eatery, YOLO and more.

It’s said to feature a nostalgic vibe with a 1940s-inspired kitchen

pantry and ceiling covered with advertising posters from the 1920s and

’30s, not to mention an indoor-outdoor bar, to-go window and

custom-designed brick pizza oven.

Oh, and btw, “Apizza” is pronounced “a-BEETS.” It’s a New Haven thing.
