You may know Steve Petusevsky as the former chef of the erstwhile and oft-mourned Unicorn Village natural restaurant in Aventura. Or as the syndicated columnist who writes about vegetarian and organic foods and recipes in your local food section. Or as the author of The Whole Foods Market Cookbook: A Guide to Natural Foods. But Westonites can now add a fourth entry to his bio: home-meal replacement guru. That’s because Petusevsky has set up shop there. His four-month-old Chef Steve’s… Carried Away Cuisine (2221 N. Commerce Pkwy., Weston, 954-385-5600) offers so many mealtime options — including lunch and dinner entrées; a 12-foot “bar” of main dishes, soups, and salads that are priced by the pound; custom-made sandwiches; homemade soups; and family rotisserie dinners — that it’s impossible to list the details. In addition, the menus change weekly. (Visit the www.chefsteves.com for complete information.) Suffice it to say that Petusevsky is putting his decades of experience to fantastic, reasonably priced use. One plus is that Chef Steve’s is not limited to vegetarian items, but there are plenty of them for those of that ilk. Another benefit is his emphasis on natural healthy cooking that doesn’t skimp on quality or flavor. And if you think your kids won’t be satisfied, guess again — he’s even got a tyke-friendly menu that features homemade macaroni and cheese and chicken fingers that are baked, of course, instead of fried.
