Like all things fashionable the former ‘out’ whiskey, has made its comeback. And quite frankly, we’re pretty damned pleased about the the new ‘in’ trend. With that, we asked partner/bartender Charles Steadman of Lantana Jack’s Bar and Grill to divulge one of his favorite rye recipes: the Ginger in the Rye.

Ginger in the RyeMenu Description: Fresh grated ginger and George Dickel No. 12 rye add a subtle spice to a classic Manhattan.

2 oz. George Dickel No. 12 Rye Whiskey¾ oz. Sweet Vermouth2 Dashes of Angostura BittersPinch of Grated GingerGarnish: Orange Peel
Step One: Combine Rye, Sweet Vermouth, Bitters, and Giner into a large mixing tin. Step Two: Stir the mixture for 20 seconds. Step Three: Double strain the drink into a rocks glass over ice.Step Four: Garnish the drink with the orange peel.Step Five: Drink and enjoy!
