The newest outpost of Lime Fresh Mexican Grill will open Friday in Fort Lauderdale. Though it was slated to debut today, final inspections have delayed the grand opening.
The menu is made-to-order Mexican grill standards: half a dozen appetizers,
four salads, three soups, and a myriad of quesadillas, burritos, and
tacos. Lime Fresh Mexican Grill debuted in South Beach in 2004 by CEO John Kunkel, who opened the first shop in Broward in 2008.
The newest burrito outpost joins a handful in what’s shaping up as a burrito barrio, which includes stalwart East Coast Burrito Factory; Zona Fresca, which debuted in 2001; Baja Fresh; Chipotle; and Tijuana Flats. The Whole Enchilada will join the fray with its second location later this year, having just begun construction on its 745 N. Federal Highway location.
