Finally, a pizza parlor for the Wilton crowd! Humpy's, like many other Wilton establishments, makes use of double-entendres to draw in the punters but keeps them there with a casual, "our-place" feel and solid pizzas and paninis cooked to order. Their dough is crisp, fresh, and wheaty and crunches nicely when folded or eaten in its thin, flat state. Toppings are varied; you can choose from turkey sausage, caramelized onions, sun-dried tomatoes, and about two dozen others, or you can opt for the pre-arranged favorites like wild mushroom with mozzarella, onions, and a dash of truffle oil. Pies come in 14- and 19-inch versions, and individual slices are available at the counter in the $3 range. Paninis include the meatball hero with marinara sauce and mozzarella, pesto chicken with provolone, tomato, and rosemary focaccia, and a veggie melt with spinach, mushrooms, peppers, and onions. Best of all, Humpy's is open late - so club-hopping party boys can pop in before 2 a.m. on the weekends and nosh in good company.
