Here at the Grind, we're never short of excuses when it comes to sharing music with our fine readers, and today's video playlist is thematically in tune with the goodwill of Valentine's Day and charged with the punk rock energy you'll want for when the date's over and the lights turn down. So get your scented candles ready, pick out some nice floral arrangement, and take your significant other somewhere decent and quiet where you can devote your time to a good meal, good conversation, and to losing yourself in the serenity of their eyes.

Happy Valentine's Day and thank you for your continued readership!

The Guttersnipes - "Addicted to Love"

Love is a strong addiction, and as the UK's Guttersnipes tell us in a fun and head-bopping kind of way that we can always be head over heels again and that we can always do what we feel whenever we want to. We're addicted to love.

The Damned - "The Shadow of Love"

Fans have long had their personal and petty little debates over the band's Phantasmagoria album, but one thing is for sure whether it was too Gothic for the punks or too punk for the Goths, this track is an easy standout. We'll light some candles for you and pray.

My Bloody Valentine - "Feed Me With Your Kiss"

This has everything, the word "Valentine" in the band's nomenclature and a somewhat fetishistic necessity to be fed by your kissing. Do what you will do. Crave that kiss.

Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers - "I Love You"

Johnny Thunders has alternately demanded to be loved and given love freely. For someone whose death has been so romanticized by rock journalism over the years, let's just appreciate the simple and heartfelt sentiment of this song.

Screeching Weasel - "Your Name is Tattooed on My Heart"

Ben Weasel has fallen from grace in the eyes of many after his little asshole episode at the SXSW festival in 2011 but the band's legacy writing awesome pop punk gems should not suffer for that. Think of Jughead and the four thousand "Dans" that have tenured in the band and keep that special someone's name tattooed on your heart.

Stiff Little Fingers - "Barbed Wire Love"

How fucking good are Stiff Little Fingers? Right? Only these sons of Belfast would notice the rose growing amidst the troubles and trouble themselves a whiff of her sweet scent amidst the bombs and razor wire.

The Buzzcocks - "Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)"

The Buzzcocks certainly make pretty out of regular saccharine pop, but are we truly forced to answer this query? Yeah, we are. And we do because the answer is true: All the freaking time.

The Ramones - "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend"

If my sister called me right now and told me that Joey Ramone's reanimated corpse came by her house a-calling and asking for her hand, I'd honestly have no problem with that. Widely regarded as "the best looking" and "most sensitive" man in punkdom, who am I to disagree? Joey Ramone should be all of your girls' boyfriend.

The Adicts - "I am Yours"

For being a bunch of jokers in the pack to praising the glories of Chinese food, this is an unusual oddity for these Clockwork Orange/clown/mime-loving Brits.

Jawbreaker - "Want"

While we've deluded ourselves over the years that Hallmark Corp. can get the message across in one of their cute little pink and red creations, the truth is, we all (mostly me) fall short of conveying our true feelings in cards. It's always a good idea to turn to poets for these moments. In the world of punk rock, there has only been a poet we could trust for these situations. His name is Blake Schwarzenbach.
