Amanda Blank doesn't need dollar signs in her name.
Warning: Kesha-bashing post to follow.

I almost threw up in my mouth when New York Times wrote a piece of trashy pop star Kesha and made comparisons to Philly MC Amanda Blank. Yea, they are both white and they rap, but Blank has been doing it for years and has plenty of cred under her belt.

Her album, I Love You, wasn't exactly the powerhouse debut we expected from the MC, but it wasn't all bad either. It probably bites off a little too much from dirty songstress Peaches than we'd care for. Still, strong tracks like "Gimme What You Got" and "Might Like You Better" made it an enjoyable listen.

Blank also proved she could captivate a crowd after numerous Poplife appearances in Miami, finally moving to a bigger stage when she opened for Ebony Bones at Art Loves Music during Art Basel Miami Beach last month.

But if Blank has anyone to thank locally for her breakthrough its Poplife, and she'll return to perform at the party February 20. Until Friday, tickets are on sale for $8 via wantickets.com. Tickets will go up to $10 after that and $15 at the door.

After the jump, check out the video for the Peaches-meets-Lil'-Kim inspired track "Might Like You Better."
