Yesterday, after decades of everyone already knowing, Anderson Cooper came out of the closet publicly. He's gay, a homosexual, light in the loafers. He's got twinkletoes. Anderson Cooper is gay! Wait, is this news?
The sexy Silver Fox revealed his preference via letter to the Daily Beast writer Andrew Sullivan. Sullivan says he's known Cooper as a friend for more than two decades and received a letter from the handsome reporter in response to questioning about being gay and in the public eye. Sullivan was given permission to post. Cooper wrote, "The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud." Seriously, you go, brother.
The journalist is reserved but opted, it seems, to put himself on the gaydar to show his pride, solidarity, and to offer inspiration. In honor of Anderson Cooper (finally) telling the world he's gay, here are five songs to provide the perfect soundtrack to busting out of that closet.
5. "Trapped In The Closet" - R. Kelly
Rumors of Usher being gay and or bi have been floating around for quite some time (please, God, let them be more than just rumors!). This is the only song we can ever picture him singing in the shower.
4. "I Kissed A Girl" - Katy Perry
Maybe Katy Perry should consider exploring other options after her recent breakup with Russell Brand. She just might like it!
