Bar 303 Battle of the Bands Featuring Lavola Rescheduled for October 23

Although the threat of Tropical Storm Nicole in South Florida has diminished significantly for tonight, Boca Raton's Bar 303 played it safe and rescheduled its Battle of the Bands event for October 23. Not to play favorites, but Glimpses of the South Florida Scene alum Lavola is one of the six bands battling it out for a prize of $2,000 that they're planning to put toward recording. The 21-plus event begins at 8 p.m.

Via Alex Rendon's weekly music newsletter: "Bar 303 took over the Royal Palm Plaza spot of the dueling piano bar Funky Nutz. The comedy club tables for couples and the two grand pianos, have been replaced with a generous dance floor and a well-proportioned, well-lit stage adorned with graffiti caricatures of mysterious looking ladies and subway-style tags."

The night's full roster and schedule is below.

8:15 p.m. DYNAMA
9:00 p.m. TRIP DONT FALL
9:45 p.m. MIXED CULTURE
10:30 p.m. THE HARD RICHARDS
11:15 p.m. FRANSCENE
12:00 a.m. LAVOLA

Battle of the Bands, 8 p.m. Saturday, October 23, at Bar 303, 303 SE Mizner Blvd., Ste. 59, Royal Palm Plaza, Boca Raton. Tickets cost $5.
