Thursday, February 28

5:30 p.m. February 28 @ Face Restaurant and Bar, 2022 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood. $20. FLIFF.com
Cinephiles rejoice! The art-house scene is growing as legendary indie film house, Cinema Paradiso -- home of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival -- expands to a second location in Hollywood later this summer. Join the fundraising event and rub elbows with folks from Cinema Paradiso and the Broward Film Society, eat some munchies and down some cocktails while musing over the artistic renderings of the theater before anyone else. But don't get too sloshed, there's a walking tour down to the site at 2008 Hollywood Blvd.

6:00 p.m. every Thu. until April 1 @ YOLO Restaurant and O Lounge, 333 E. Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. $8. Call 954-523-1000, or visit yolorestaurant.com.
While everyone up North is nearly freezing to death, we're hanging out at outdoor restaurants, taking photos, and bragging to all our Northern brethren about our lack of seasons via Instagram. To celebrate the mild winter weather, YOLO is taking advantage of the outdoor fire pits -- and giving you multiple food photo ops -- by hosting a sticky sweet s'mores night. - Sara Ventiera

6:00 p.m. every Thu. until February 28 @ Florida Atlantic University, 777 Glades Road
Boca Raton. Free. Visit fau.edu/sota, or call 561-297-2533.
The department of languages, linguistics, and comparative literature in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters is presenting a month long French Film Festival. A discussion will be held afterward for all those wishing to participate. The films (with subtitles) being screened are Le Havre, Les Hommes Libres ("Free Men"), White Material, Film Socialisme, and Le Gamin Au Vélo ("The Boy With a Bike"). - Tana Velen

Friday, March 1

5:00 p.m. Friday @ War Memorial Auditorium, 800 NE Eighth St. in Fort Lauderdale. Free. Facebook.com/indiecraftbazaar.
From the folks who bring you the City-Wide Market monthly at the War Memorial Auditorium, the Night Owl Market (which takes place as part of the FAT Village Art Walk the last Saturday of the month -- next one March 30), and the Indie Craft Bazaar (which takes place at Revolution Live and Green Room every other month -- the next one is in April) comes something crafty with a little twist. There will be food trucks and local green market food vendors as well as many of the indie vendors participating in the market over the weekend.

7:00 p.m. Friday @ Arts Garage, 180 NE First St. in Delray Beach. $20 for students, $30 regular, and $45 for premium seating. Call 561-450-6357, or visit artsgarage.org.
Complete with heels, glamor, and more glitter than a stripper pole, Drag Bingo will include not only performances by the Voices of Pride queens but also prizes, a raffle, and a surprise auction. - Tana Velen

Saturday, March 2

9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday @ Snyder Park, 3299 SW Fourth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. $25 at the door, $20 in advance. Children 12 and under are free. Call 954-460-5000, or visit sassf.org.
The 30th-annual Southeast Florida Scottish Festival and Games highlights many Scottish cultural activities: pipe bands, heavy athletics, country dancing, clans, societies, fiddling, singing, piping and drumming competitions, highland dancing, sheep-herding, food, drink, and shopping.  - Sara Ventiera

6:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday @ Lucky's Tavern, 214 SW Second St. in Fort Lauderdale. $25 at the door or $20 in advance. Fortlauderdalebarcrawl.com.
Every city has its nickname. New York is the Big Apple. New Orleans, the Big Easy. Philly is the City of Brotherly Love. And then there's Fort Lauderdale, a.k.a. Fort Liquordale. Obviously, we're best-known for one thing -- drinking. So it would be rather fitting that the city named after such bar-centered activities would have its own bar crawl. Now it does. - Sara Ventiera

9:00 a.m. Saturday @ Norton Museum of Art, 1451 S. Olive Ave. in West Palm Beach. $60 for Locust Project members and $75 for nonmembers. To join the tour without the transport $25 and $35. Reservations are requested. Call 305-576-8570, or visit locustprojects.org.
It's the story of the South Florida art scene, with Miami against, well, basically everyone else. Wynwood-based Locust Projects is seeking to bridge that gap this weekend with a special field trip north of the Dade County line. The Miami gallery and project space organized a Palm Beach County tour that includes a stop at the home of Beth Rudin Dewoody to look at the contemporary art collection of gallerist Sarah Gavlak. - Tricia Woolfenden

6:00 p.m. Saturday @ The Bubble, 810 NE Fourth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Admission is $10, and raffle tickets will be sold for a $5 to $10 donation. Call 561-929-4454, or visit scnwg.org.
Thought Coalition and American Sweatshop will oversee the completion of live drawing by artists like Paul McEnery, Shane Watt, and Brown, plus others as a fundraiser for the Sickle Cell Natural Wellness Group (SCNWG). The nonprofit group -- founded by 24-year-old T.J. Brown, who's has sickle cell anemia himself -- advocates healthy lifestyles and holistic healing. - Tricia Woolfenden
