Any show that ends with two guitarists (sans pants) screaming at the top of their lungs could spell trouble, but not so in the case of Black Lips. They use a hatred of pants to their advantage. The Atlanta-based foursome kicked Churchill’s in the crotch last summer when it played to a soused crowd during Fuzz Fest. Around 2 a.m., the boys began their ambush, assaulting our eardrums with a one-two punch of messy ’60s rock ‘n’ roll and blood-curdling howls. Then all Hades broke loose, and the set ended in a wonderful cacophony of feedback accompanied by an overturned drum set, handfuls of soggy bar napkins, and two of the members strumming their instruments with, uh, their members. I’ll be damned if those nice young fellows didn’t give the crowd an earful (and an eyeful — well, kind of). Check out the triumphant return of Black Lips at 8 p.m. Saturday, January 24, with the Lids, the Heatseekers, and Billy Boloby at Respectable Street, 518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach. Tickets cost $8. Call 561-832-9999.
