Brad Paisley's boyish looks and laid-back, rock 'n' roll stage garb have helped make him one of the reigning darlings of the country world. In fact, he holds the record for the biggest number of consecutive singles to reach the number-one spot on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart — an even ten! But part of what's set Paisley apart is his relatively edgier, bawdier persona. Mostly eschewing the kind of heartfelt, pop-style ballads favored by many of his Nashville peers, his style is noticeably more rocking, wheeling freely between straight-ahead traditional country and boogie rock. Paisley also never takes himself too seriously. His monster hit "Alcohol," for instance, is sung from the point of view of booze itself, boasting rakishly about "helping white people dance."
