Casper & the Friendly Cookies

Athens, Georgia, is known for its topnotch music scene and history of producing bands that defy explanation. Maybe it's the college-town atmosphere or something in those peaches, but when a band breaks out of the confines of Athens, chances are it's worth a listen. Upstart psychedelic pop-rockers Casper & the Cookies fall into that category. With music that at times sounds like they've channeled the creative genius of Simon and Garfunkel, Brian Wilson, and Beck all at once, C&TC music factory have managed to create a unique style that's hard to imitate and even harder to describe. They're blowing up on MySpace, and thank local promoter Steve Rullman from The Honeycomb for bringing them into Southern Florida for a performance that shouldn't be missed.
