Chris Lighty Found Dead; Friends and Fans Mourn His Alleged Suicide

Legendary hip-hop manager and head-tall rap mogul Chris Lighty was found dead last night in his Bronx apartment. Lighty, who was 44, repped a whole gallery of hip-hop giants with his conglomerate Violator Records, including Mariah Carey, Q-Tip, Missy, and 50 Cent.

Lighty, who put out joints like "Vivrant Thing," was found in his apartment with a gunshot wound to his head and a semiautomatic weapon beside him. It's been determined an alleged suicide, but it won't be confirmed until the medical examiner has the last say.

Lighty was a hometown hero. Growing up in the Bronx hood, he was a huge asset to the hip-hop game, creating the line between music and business. His enterprise was a juggernaut, and he was pretty much running this rap shit for a second.

Throughout the day, hip-hop stars lamented Lighty's passing.

Chuck D
"R I P Chris Lighty SMH to the mongrels that have made the BLACKmusic
industry a depressing game to drag such good cats into a pit of
bullishit"

Missy Elliott
"ChrisLighty U taught me 2 B Fearless! U help build So many Artist
Careers! This is such a sad time 4 all the lives u touched."

Ciara
"So Sad, and Truly Unbelievable:(..May Chris Lighty Rest In Peace... ❤"
