Miami’s Para has long toyed with the notion of operating as an acoustic duo along the lines of a Latin-tinged Mazzy Star, but singer Jaquelline Biver and guitarist Omar Elesgaray found that transforming their gentle tunes into fleshed-out rockers provided more fun. The band is a full five-piece now, but a delicate softness remains — Para’s simple arrangements and Biver’s honey-dripped voice ensure that. The college students have teamed up with Homestead’s slightly tougher but still pretty Modernage for a show at 9 p.m. Friday, August 1, at Fort Lauderdale’s Factory (2674 E. Oakland Park Blvd.). Tickets are $8. Call 954-564-7625.
