It might be hard to picture "Redneck Yacht Club" singer Craig Morgan and his rugged brand of country in upscale CityPlace, just up the road from Palm Beach and its real-life megayachts.
But boat owner or not, everyone will be welcome at Morgan's show on the plaza at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 30. The free concert, part of the weekly Taste of CityPlace series, kicks off at 6 p.m. with opening act Tom Jackson. Local country sensation the Amber Leigh Band will take the stage at 8 p.m.
Morgan, also known for songs "International Harvester," "That's What I Love About Sunday" and current single "This Ain't Nothin'," has released five albums since 2000 and presently is touring with Carrie Underwood. He has twice been nominated for the Academy of Country Music's Top New Male Vocalist, and seven of his singles have hit the Billboard country chart's Top 10.
An avid big game hunter and dirt biker, Morgan also is gearing up for a
new television series, "All Access Outdoors," which debuts on the
Outdoor Channel next month.
In addition to being an outdoorsman, Morgan is a diehard supporter of
U.S. troops. He served 10 years with the Army's 101st and 82nd Airborne
Divisions, and he is a frequent performer at military bases. In 2006, he
received the USO Merit Award for his support of soldiers and their
