Let's stroll to the rooftop of the indie world of music venue 1921 for a New Year's party fit for anyone who's up for a little adventure just finding this Fort Lauderdale haunt. Our best guess is here.
Anyhow, three bands will perform on the roof: hardcore punk band Mute Issue, Travalonia, and Manifest Test Subject.
After all, the best part of the indie affair is the excitement of not
knowing exact details until days before the event, but because this
party will be triple-hosted by the Malcriado (a Miami-based alternative
rock and funk band), ftlcollective.com (our local indie blog), and Jams
(the peeps who host our indie dance parties), it will draw attention. On
the flier, the name of the event is "Epic! NYE Bash." Playing records
inside, near the dance floor, until 4 a.m. will be DJs Esoteric, Damsk,
Andie Sweetswirl, and Mig.
You must be 18 to party but of course 21 to
drink. Ten bucks will get you in the door, and an additional $10 will
get you "All U Can Drink Beer" until midnight. There will be a special
ball-drop viewing at midnight as well as a full liquor bar. It's cash
only, and the doors open at 9 p.m. at 1921 (1921 S. Federal Highway,
Fort Lauderdale).
