Things To Do

Five Best Music Events in South Florida This Week

Rick Springfield

Rick Springfield may be a Grammy award-winning songwriter and former General Hospital heartthrob, but all that success can't make up for the fact the hopeless romantic still wishes he had "Jessie's Girl." Maybe all that will change when the Aussie rocker — and one of the dreamiest 66-year-old men you'll ever meet — takes over the Hard Rock Live this week with Loverboy and the Romantics.

With Loverboy and the Romantics. Wednesday, September 2, 8 p.m. Hard Rock Live, 1 Seminole Way, Hollywood; 954-797-5531; Tickets cost $40 to $60 plus fees via

Churchill's Pub 36 Year Birthday Bash

Churchill's Pub has been a haven for loud noise and free expression in South Florida for over three decades. And for it's 36th birthday, the Little Haiti rock gem will be throwing a three-day bash lined up with rockin' tuneage from all of your fave local music junkies. You'll have to cross the Bro Co and Palm Beach county lines to get there, but trust us, you won't want to miss out.

With Everymen, Night Gaunts, Days N Daze, Menudo Death Squad, Sponge, the Talking Dogs, FWA, Shark Valley Sisters, FTMF, the Done, Unity Rise, Speculum, the Gazms, Superhaunted, the Wandering Krill, and others. Friday to Sunday, September 4 to 6. Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE 2nd Ave., Miami; 305-757-1807; Admission is free.

From the Magic City to West Palm Beach, Eons is a Serene Machine on synth power. So get ready for a "high energy, epic experience with a plethora of twinkling LED lights" as the synth-pop duo brings their "dreamy dance soundtrack" to Respectable Street.
