Five Events in Broward and Palm Beach This Weekend Under $5

TGIF, y'all. There're only a few more hours left until it's booze o'clock. Which is around 5 by our estimate.

Some of you may be excited because Dave Matthews Band is in town. And guess what? He's playing not one but two shows. Oh, the humanity!

For the rest of us who will not be under the table and dreaming, we've got a list of five things to do that won't make your bank account cry salty, sad tears.

Armageddon Man, Bleubird, and Gallimimus. Friday, July 20, 10 p.m., at Speakeasy Lounge, 129 N. Federal Highway, Lake Worth. Admission is $5.
Last we heard, Armageddon Man turned things up a notch at the inaugural Splatter-Rama! event at Cinema Paradiso. Combine that band with the high-energy performance that local hip-hop artist Bleubird brings to the stage and there's no telling what will happen.

Sweet Chariots. Friday, July 20, 10 p.m., at Grease Burger Bar, 213 Clematis St., West Palm Beach. No cover.
With their freshly combed pompadours and tight black T's, the Sweet Chariots fit the rockabilly poster-child mold. But don't let the scent of Murray's and cuffed denim fool you; it's not just all good looks and boyish charm onstage. Singer Thomas Warren's powerful vocals and spine-tingling shrieks evoke the spirit of Elvis and pay homage to the great Jerry Lee Lewis.

Burlesque Night with Morgan LaRue and the Shimmy Shake Revue. Saturday, July 21, 8 p.m., at Mickey's Bar, 350 SW 12th Ave., Pompano Beach. No cover.
So, you want to spend the night checking out hot babes and hot rods? Step away from the computer and take a peek at the real stuff. Joining Miss Morgan LaRue onstage with an assortment of sensual performances is Onyx Star, Jezebell Red, and Rene Daze. In addition to the busty babes titillating your senses, check out live music from Vice City Rockers, Talking Dogs, and Die Trying. Outside, car enthusiasts will be showing off their goods -- which will probably not be as nice as those of the ladies. For more info, click here.

County Grind Metal Night with Holly Hunt, Shroud Eater, and Slashpine. Saturday, July 21, 10 p.m., at Green Room, 109 SW Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Admission is $5.
Last month, County Grind treated you to a pretty rad show with the Jacuzzi Boys. And now we're back for another edition in the CG music show series. However, this time we're going to kick things up a notch with a slew of metal bands that will surely leave those ears ringing. Radio-Active Records DJs provide the soundtrack, and the gallery walls will be packed with work from a ton of local artists. Don't forget to get there early so you don't miss out on the $3 vodka drink specials. For more info, click here.

Rocky Horror Picture Show. Saturday, July 21, 11:55 p.m., at Classic Gateway Theater, Fort Lauderdale. Admission is $6
OK. We are sorta cheating with this one because the price is $6, but c'mon! It's the goddamned Rocky Horror Picture Show. What's one extra dollar? And anyway, that's pretty cheap for an evening at the movies. Remember the rice, and to brush up on those lyrics. And don't worry if you're a virgin; here's a quickie first-timer's guide.
