This event got our stamp of approval in our Best Of edition when it placed for "Best Nightlife Party" in 2012. All the praise Flaunt received then stands today. To add to the dancing, rocking duo Riot Act will be performing live along with Marvelous Kendall, OZwaldus, JJ Contramus, and Danxiety. And for those in need of a social lube, PBRs are $2 ($1 before 11 p.m.) and Flaunt shots are $3. Now do you see why we like this party?

4. Defining a Moment: Panel Discussion

7 p.m., Friday, January 16, at Girls' Club, 117 NE Second St., Fort Lauderdale. No cover. Visit Facebook.

Fort Lauderdale's art space, Girls' Club, is hosting a panel discussion to establish and extrapolate on talented artists' stories. The discussion works in conjunction with "Defining a Moment," a web project that investigates artists and why they decided to become artists. Erica Mohan will moderate the esteemed panel that includes Jane Hart, Virginia Fifield, Tara Penick, and AdrienneRose Gionta. This is a great place to come if you need a little inspiration or encouragement. And bring your daughters. You never know, they may be the next Judy Chicagos.

3. Sky Scraper, Not Spices, Free Kittens, and Bread at Archie's West

Four bands with very inspiring monikers will be gracing the stage at Archie's West with their musical presence. Sky Scraper, Free Kittens, Bread, and Not Spices will take Commercial Boulevard to the next level sonically this Saturday. Love their names? We do too. Swing on by to see if you love the music, too.

2. Mylo Ranger CD Release Party

Young Boca alt folk band Mylo Ranger will be debuting its second full length album, The Sawgrass Shivers this Saturday at Propoganda in Lake Worth. The bluesy Chain Smoking Hags, jazzy Tame the Lyons, folky Cult Love, and zombie loving Raggy Monster will be joining the musical mavens. Oh, and don't bitch about the $10 cover, it gets you a free copy of their album, mmmkay?

Five bands + one CD for $10 = an equation for a successfully cheap night on the town.

1. Art Walk on Wilton Drive

Art Walk on Wilton Drive is launching its first event of the year this Saturday at the fabulous Rumors Bar & Grill. Presented by Recylced Jude, an "upcycle" business that donates a portion of proceeds to Saint Jude Children's Hospital, a few featured arts and crafters include locals Vivian "Petitflor" Orozco, Aware Wolf Arts, Rosie Mermaid, Novae Gourmet Jerky, Lady Larva Art, and Marene Originals. Live music, food, games, and drink specials will also be available to all good folks who attend.
