According to the interwebs, Monterey Club is hosting a night of "dark, gritty, opinionated standup." Expect to feel a little guilty as you snarf your cheap beer with glee at the jokes being launched at you from the stage. The lineup is long, but worthy of a gander. Talents include Damien Figler, Robert Punchur, Brian Coronado, Jonathan Phatchopz Cardenas, Lamonte Stewart, Malachi, Chris Topher and Nico Prada.

4. Revolution Live Presents Sunghosts, SoundGlass, and Scary Iowa

Revolution Live launched a locals night not long back. They're keeping the scene bubbling with a rock-heavy lineup this weekend. It includes "sun-drenched" pop-punks Soundglass, indie rockers Sunghosts, alt folkies Scary Iowa, and hard rockers Legally Taken.

3. Caturday Saturday Masquerade Ball

Embrace you inner cat lady at the third annual Caturday in Fort Lauderdale. Guests will receive cat masks and champagne upon entering, and they can also snatch a copy of the Kitten Empire Gazette while listening to the soulful sounds of Chloe Dolandis.

Feline festivities continue with kitty burlesque, tuna sashimi from "Sushi Song," gourmet crepes, a cat-focused art gallery, a photo booth, a Midnight Mar-Kat, and the chance to adopt a kitty through the do-gooder org the Cat Network.

2. RedEYE REboot

6 p.m., Saturday, July 19, at ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale. Cover is $12. Visit Facebook.

RedEYE's REboot features everything live, art and bands included. You can catch musical and dance performances by Octo Gato, Speaking Volumes, Wilton Drive, and OsunDara Yoruba Dance Theatre. As for the art, there will be comics, street artist, body painting, and so much more. This is more art than Fort Lauderdale's seen since last year's RedEYE. Going nine years strong, this is where Broward County gets truly creative.

1. Black Fridays' Three Year Anniversary

For the past three years, Mike Linder has been bringing the musical and sartorial darkness to Fort Lauderdale pretty consistently, except for a stint in Miami at the Vagabond. His Black Fridays night has garnered quite a following, but today is special. It includes not only burlesque and drag, but a video premiere by Astari Nite.
