Five Things to Do Under $5 This Weekend

5. Water Fashion Show at C&I Studios
6 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at C&I Studios. 541 NW First Ave., Fort Lauderdale. No cover. Visit Facebook

It’s summer, so everyone should be half-naked. And if you don’t believe us, take this as proof – C&I Studios will be hosting its monthly art walk with the theme Water Fashion Show. Popular designers who will be worn on models strutting their stuff include Montce Swim, Unzipped Citizen, Taylor Adair Swim, and Uzzi Amphibious Gear. DJ TONX will be throwing it down on the turntables, and musician Telescope Thieves will provide the jams.

4. Final Show: A Run for the Coast
6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at O'Malley's Sports Bar & Grill. 1388 N. State Road 7, Margate. $10 cover. Visit Facebook

A Run for the Coast, a Pembroke Pines punk band (how’s that for an alliteration?), is saying goodbye this weekend. Alongside the farewell performance are sets by Basebourne, Insignificant Other, Fun at Parties, and other bands with weird, fun monikers. Rock on, you uniquely named musicians.

3. NightCasters at the Duck Tavern
9 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the Duck Tavern, 5901 N. Federal Hwy., Boca Raton. No cover. Visit Facebook

Self-proclaimed “jam band” the NightCasters will be jamming out at the Duck Tavern tomorrow at this free event. The classic rock and blues mix band is the perfect thing to listen to while you pound back a few and try to forget your shitty week.

2. Red Bull BC One Fort Lauderdale Cypher
4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Gallery of Amazing Things. 481 S. Federal Hwy., Dania Beach. No cover. Visit Facebook

So you think you can dance? Well, you probably can’t. However, the contestants at the Red Bull BC One Fort Lauderdale Cypher most definitely can. Contestants will be vying, or grooving, for a ticket to the Red Bull BC One North America Finals in Orlando this August. Felix Fusik will be monitoring the music, so he’ll take care of all your jamming needs.

1. Smith Sundy and More at Vintage Tap
9 p.m Friday, June 26, at the Vintage Tap, 524 W. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach. No cover. Visit Facebook

Trio Smith Sundy will exhibit the psychedelic rock, while the Old Fashioned play a set as well. Augustine duo Cute Fills has the punk down pat, and Abandon the Midwest is the pop-punk band of the crew. Four bands, one night, no money required – need we say more?
