4. Electric Kif and Progger at The Funky Buddha Lounge & Brewery

9 p.m. Saturday, at the Funky Buddha Lounge & Brewery. 2621 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton. $8 cover. Visit Facebook.

Catch Miami locals Electric Kif for a taste of soul, funk and jazz all mixed together. But wait! There’s more. Austin based band Progger will be bringing their funkalicious jazz jams, too. It’s two bands for the price of, well, almost none, you lucky kid!

3. Margate Under the Moon: Goodbye Summer

5 p.m. Saturday, September 12 at NW Corner of 441 and Margate Blvd. No cover. Visit Facebook.

What do you get when you mix 15 food trucks, free beer, art and tie-dye? Besides strangely colored vomit, all these things will be involved in this week’s installment of the Margate Under the Moon series. This night’s theme is Goodbye Summer and features local artists, a free tie-dye booth and fun summer games like cornhole and Frisbee. Saying goodbye to summer may not be that bad after all.

2. Benefit at Gigi’s Music Cafe

7 p.m. Friday, September 11 at Gigi’s Music Café. 4385 NW 88th Ave., Sunrise.

Eight musical acts will be performing to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Musicians include The Straw Dogs, Newel Bait, Mountain Mist and more. Although there is no cover, donations will be accepted to benefit the project.

1. Muvment Fridays

10 p.m. Friday, September 11 at Bar Stache 1920's Drinking Den. 109 SW 2nd Ave, Fort Lauderdale. No cover. 21+. Visit Facebook

Fridays are time to move out of your office chair and into the clubs. Thanks to Stache, Culture Productions, and Electric Love Productions, #MUVMENT Fridays embody that notion. This week is electro-house hotshot Crookers along with DJ Misha and Pirate Stereo. Get ready to jam out, ham out, and whatever other weird phrase you can think, OK?

Keep New Times Broward-Palm Beach Free... Since we started New Times Broward-Palm Beach, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of South Florida, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
