Flaming Lips Better Not Cancel Sunset Cove Amphitheater Show October 16

Exciting news for everyone who wanted to see the Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne on the cover of our magazine again. Well, it's the cover we ran last time, but still. Earlier this year, Lips guitarist Steven Drozd was briefly hospitalized right before the band's scheduled performance at SunFest in West Palm Beach April 29, and their show was axed. Fingers crossed that we'll have better luck with a make-up date slotted for October 16 at Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Boca Raton. No details are up at the Sunset Cove site as of yet, but we'll keep you posted.

Local indie rock enthusiasts should prepare to take a few days off of work because this show comes on the heels of a run of can't-miss concerts that'll induce marathon blogging by yours truly:

...which is bad news for fans of School

of Seven Bells is at Grand Central in Miami on October 16 as well.

But unless they get a gerbil ball, this is no contest.
