The Republican Party's sweeping victory on November 2 was billed as a "triumph of morals." But the bad guys haven't won yet. If that were the case, Tampa Bay pain-rockers Genitorturers wouldn't still be careening through our great red state, putting on shows seething with so much vice, it makes the prospect of gay marriage seem like apple pie. Not only is the Genitorturers' music enough to make Jerry Falwell move to Afghanistan (please -- go!), but the on-stage whippings, spankings, and miscellaneous body piercings are a fetishist's wet dream come true. Of course, were the 'Torturers to actually make it big -- like Marilyn Manson big -- the FCC would come down on the band harder than a ten-penny nail through a scrotum. And you don't want to see Michael Powell in bondage gear. -- Jason Budjinski

The Genitorturers, with openers Deadstar Assembly, the Numb Ones, and phoenix/NEBULIN, appear at 8 p.m. Friday, November 26, at Club Sonar, 3045 N. Federal Hwy., Fort Lauderdale. $15. Call 954-920-8777.
