"I must've been high on crack, high on crack, high on cra-haaack..." So go the lyrics to "The Game You Play," one of the more hilarious standouts on the upcoming release by Paul Sennello, a.k.a. P-Man, and his band, Rhodes Gibson and His Orchestra. The name's an exaggerated mouthful, reflective of Sennello's rather ripe sense of humor about his music. But that's not to say he doesn't take it seriously. Formerly the bassist for local stalwarts Baloney Sandwich, Sennello has put together a great group, including former Saigon Kick guitarist Pete Dembrowski and drummer Pete Vega of Julio Iglesias Jr.'s band (how's that for a sense of humor?). The sound is pretty straight-ahead rock 'n' roll, with emphasis on interesting guitar textures, playful lyrics, and clever songwriting. While not light, it's got levity, which is rare in a town where rock usually equates to snarky, stuffy purism.

P-Man plays at 9 p.m., Thursday, April 28, at the Bamboo Room, 25 S. "J" St., Lake Worth. The show is free. Call 561-585-2583.
