Well, the giddy acoustic flourishes of Guster and Jack's Mannequin's slickly honed alt-rock are apparently not amphitheater-worthy in South Florida this time around.

The two bands' joint summer tour will not take place at the 3,000-capacity Pompano Beach Amphitheatre but will be moved indoors to Revolution, which holds about 1,000. Sluggish ticket sales is a likely motivator for this change, but at least the gig is still on.

According to Revolution's Facebook invite for the show, the all-ages show will honor tickets already purchased for the Pompano show. An added bonus for this change of venue will surely be the air-conditioned comfort.

Guster. With Jack's Mannequin and Augustana. 6:30 p.m. Sunday, August 21, at Revolution, 200 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $31.50; all ages. Click here.

Keep New Times Broward-Palm Beach Free... Since we started New Times Broward-Palm Beach, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of South Florida, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
