Call it roots-rock or Americana if you want to (both are accurate), but when it comes to a show featuring the Hep Cat Boo Daddies and Los Diablos, what you’re going to get is can’t-miss blue-blooded rock ‘n’ roll. The Hep Cats are known for their hard-edged approach to blending Chicago-meets-Texas blues with straight-ahead rock, and their sound is best described on first listen as Roadhouse-style drinking music. There’s nothing wrong with that. This is a Friday-night gig we’re talking about. With Los Diablos, you get just as many musical hybrids — throw in a dash of alt-country, remove a bit of the blues, and, — voilà — it’s South Florida power rock at its finest. Their show this weekend puts these two South Florida bands together on stage for the first time ever, and it shouldn’t be missed.
