Fort Lauderdale's taking back Sunday with a new monthly indie dance event even Steven Spielberg can get down for, Jams the Party. There might be fewer regulars watching football this weekend at McSorley's Beach Pub because the Dolphins played Thursday night, but we can already picture the heightened interactions at the beer pong tables with a mixture of smartly dressed scenesters filling out the joint. Or more likely, after the Packers put the hurt on Brett Favre one last time (?) before he retires, the jersey-clad crew will head up to the sundeck for a halftime show and never go back down.

DJs taking part in the inaugural Jams event, which is detailed at this Facebook event page, include Esoteric, Damask, Sensitive Side, Chris Lee, and Mig Lauderdale. And because we are in the interest of semi-full disclosure, some of those names belong to people who write for New Times. And, the barbecue sustenance of Swanky's will be on the scene.

We have a hunch Gorillaz, the Beach Boys, Delorean, and Neon Indian all have a shot to get into the mix on Sunday, but showing up is the only way to confirm it.

Jams the Party. 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 21 at McSorley's Beach Pub, 837 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. No cover. 21 and up.
